Our goals

ShARM was born following the recognition that opportunities to share invaluable resources were being wasted, which was ethically and economically inefficient. By providing a mechanism for exchanging resources, the amount of research undertaken using the same number of animals can be dramatically increased with minimal additional cost.

Our main goals are to:

  1. Facilitate the sharing of surplus mouse tissue for research into ageing and diseases of ageing
  2. Provide a members-only and online environment (our ShARM community) for the ageing research community to network, collaborate and discuss key topics
  3. Reduce the numbers of animals used for research into ageing, by reducing wastage
  4.
